Exquisite capture!I love the curvature of the plate and the way the lighting highlights the food~ Looks so succulent! Loving the additional green leaf!
Only thing that's bothering me is the arrangement of the noodles-- Maybe they should have been swirled instead of a bit random or at least, that's what a few strands at the surface look like). Though i know that's quite difficult, maybe it's something to consider if you shoot again :]
thank you for your honest opinion. it is very helping to hear how other people think about. i have used spoon and folk to setup this pasta on the plate. honestly, i thought it is nice until you mentioned it, but now i started to see it RANDOM. OMG, what i was doin' next time, i will spend more time to do this arrangement before taking a photo. thank you so much! it helped me a lot. i will try better next time.
No prob! I love your gallery! You are an amazing photographer--your work definitely appeals to me!
Awww~ It's still a great shot. It's just that i love details on shots of food. I saw that the middle of the noodles looked swirled and arranged, but then there were some strands that went astray. It's probably not something you'd notice at all! I'd just eat the food already :]
i used diffused sunlight(=natural light). i have a blog entry about how to take it. you can find more detailed setups and settings here. >>> [link] <<< hope this will help you in some way. thank you for your nice comment.
i am experimenting some. and i guess you have a good point. this may be not good idea for food photography. your advice is taken! i will try some other expression when i do white dish next time. thank you for the input.
!!! I am so right now, Tetsuya!!! May I order this by email???
I insist, you should offer your services as a photographer to some real good restaurant. Your taste to expose food and drinks (everything, actually) is so exquisite! I am twice as hungry as I was before and I can even SMELL the spaghetti´s !!
By the way, that plate is gorgeous. I wish we had them here! I´d buy a dozen!!
i just got a project to take some menu. so before that, i am practicing to find out possible problems. i always practice before the real work. in this way, i can avoid many mistakes. thank you so much for kind words M.
i got this plate from regular plate shop for professional cook. they sell these to hotels and restaurants. try to search that kind of shop. ps i tilted the plate so it looks unique. real plate does not stand like this. this is regular wave plate, just in case.
thank you M. almost all time i have problems. i am learning everyday. i used to work as an event photographer, and i made so many mistakes and learned a lot from that experience. since then, i always case study the subject when i got a project. it is very helping to find out possible problems. especially when i do it as a first time, everything looks perfect since my eyes are not familiar with the subject. and when i go back to my office, i will find some mistakes.... then it is too late to take it again. if i know them before the real shot, i can make sure to take care of them. wish me luck.
If that is the case, then you are doing the right thing. Nothing is more frustrating than finding mistakes that cannot be fixed That is a professional attitude !! And yes, I wish you LOTS of luck !!!!!
